At Eastern Elementary, we believe every student can learn, grow, create, and succeed. We are proud to be both a Cognia STEM Certified School and a North Carolina DPI STEM School of Distinction, recognitions that reflect our commitment to providing meaningful, high-quality STEM learning experiences for all students.

At Eastern, STEM learning happens in every classroom, at every grade level. STEM is more than science, technology, engineering, and mathematics—it is an approach to learning that encourages students to ask questions, explore ideas, solve problems, collaborate with others, and think creatively. Pitt County Schools follows the SMT Center's definition of STEM - "Strategies That Engage Minds". Through hands-on learning, project-based learning, engineering design challenges, technology integration, and real-world connections, our students have opportunities to apply what they are learning in meaningful ways.
